Dear Wife;

What resources are you using to read about dementia?

Incontinence is a part of dementia. For many of us, bowel incontinence is when we throw in the towel for trying to care for our LO at home.

How is this affecting you?

Yes, unfortunately, bladder and bowel incontinence are part of demensia. My mom's started with bladder and added bowel. She is totally incontinent. Earlier on we had some success with getting mom to sit on the commode at the most common time she pooped...with my mom it was first thing in the morning. I would get her out of bed and sit her on the commode. Then I would talk to her while I prepped for getting her dressed for the day. If I could get her to sit 15-20 minutes, she would go. You could try that for now. As time went on, we could no longer do that. Now I just change her every 2-3 hours.
