Being forced to leave my home of 29 years due to foreclosure. I can't afford packing, storage, moving costs, and an apartment. My dogs and I are facing homelessness. I'm all alone. No one to help me. Is there a place to find help? I'm desperate and running out of time. My pets are registered compassion dogs. I can't be discriminated against because they are registered, but I can be refused renting an apartment due to a low credit score. Where can I find some help? I'm desperate!
I think if I were in your shoes and I had the choice of either paying people to pack for me or leave my things behind I would leave everything behind (except for what I really needed such as clothes, some pots and pans, photographs, etc.). Use your money to get an apartment so you have a roof over your head.
Furniture can be replaced over time. Put your priorities in order and find a safe place for yourself and your dogs.
Good luck,
Jenna

Thank you for your response. You gave me some helpful information that I'm going to look into. I'm trying to pick people's brains and hoping that they can come up with a source that may be beneficial to me. Several places that I've called can't help me, or choose not to help me. They give me other numbers to call, but I usually run into a situation that no one answers, I'll leave a message, and then I never receive any calls me back. All of this takes up so much time. I find it all pretty frustrating.
As for refusing to leave, I have no idea if I could get away with that. I signed an agreement with the bank for a program called "cash for keys". This agreement gives someone a certain amount of time to evacuate the premises for a certain amount of money. The longer amount of time you take to move out the amount of cash decreases. The payment is not made to the evactee until the premises is vacated and inspected. They have the right to withhold any amount of money they desire if the house doesn't meet the requirements when agreement was signed. Some of those were that the house needed to be swept, all items removed unless built-in, nothing removed from the yard.
I was length of time to be out by was extended 2 months when the quarantine started because people were not allowed to come in and help me. The 2 months will be up on July 31st.
I don't have any friends that can help, and my father is going to be 88, and unable to help much. My son lives in California.
I've contacted several organizations, including local agencies, the Salvation Army, Advocacy for Elders, etc. I'll keep trying. I thought that I would be able to get suggestions from others so I could refocus. I also registered my dogs as companion dogs to avoid discrimination, but I'm just rejected for a low credit score.
I'll keep plugging away and hope that something will change. Thank you for your suggestions.
