My mom is under home care. My sister had surgery about a week and a half ago and is having to use a wheelchair and walker to get around. She has arthritis on top of this, and is having stiffness and pain, and cannot stand for very long periods of time. She is frustrated and down. This morning, our mom kept asking her why she was having so much trouble and had to ask me to do so much for her. Mom, who has always been very independent, and was raised this way, is also down about her own condition, frustrated, and they both cannot seem to wrap their minds around why they need so much help. This morning, they got on each other's nerves before I left for work. It has been less than 3 weeks and I am already exhausted. Some days, I want to run away and not come back.

Caring for two people with high levels of need is too much for any one caregiver. You need to look into getting more help. Try your mom or sisters doctors, explaining the situation, or local area on aging

Someone is coming during the day for my mom, and 2 days a week for my sister - while I am at work.

I just wish there was more that could be done for my sister, but what do you do when their insurance limits what help they can get?
