Good morning, please let me know if you are having difficulty finding something. I'd be happy to help you navigate the new format.

Took me an hour to find this!
I hate the new format.
Please bring back the old.
Or at least give us a choice. It was far better when we could use the old style. The new one was still there for all to see IF THEY WISHED TO!
This is getting me really depressed. I am usually a 'glass half full' Now my glass is empty.

Is there a way to customize our screen views, so we could choose not see portions?
If I could get rid of “Needs Answers” and “Popular Topics and “Popular Discussions” it would be more logical in how I use this. Some may only want to see “needs answers” although I don’t understand that category since they don’t have Zero answers, just a few.
Also wondering why Reply’s are not counted in your answer count?

OMG, I HATE the new layout et al. I can't easily find which questions I have answered that have additional answers (I like to follow previous questions), I can't see how many new "helpful" answers I have since I last looked,

I hate everything about the new layout. And I usually like change. The "look" is pretty, but the functionality SUCKS in my book. I'll spend a bit more time on it, but I may be done with this website. UGH.

Members each use the site differently, some immediately head to their profile and only interact with questions they are currently following. If you would prefer to see recent activity on the posts you are following or from the members you are following click your avatar in the top right and open up your newsfeed. Newsfeed will present, in list form, all recent activity on what you have indicated previous interest in.

Other members choose to ensure that every question receives answers or advice from other caregivers. For this reason, head to the main caregiver forum page (shortcut by clicking the question mark in the header) and see a list of questions that have received less than 3 answers.

If you prefer a list view, when you enter the caregiver forum click the header of the category of questions you would like to view (needs answers, recent, or popular).

We understand change is difficult but we, and all of the caregivers seeking your answers, advice, and support appreciate your contributions to the site. Thanks!

My point is there’s a lot more scrolling around and drilling down needed to do the things we used to be able to do easier.

New site is pretty. Yes, I can navigate it. Do I like it? Is it easier? Is it easy on the eyes? NO! I DO NOT like green eggs and ham. I DO NOT LIKE THIS sam I am! Yep! I'm acting like a baby and I don't care. I do not like this here or there, I do not like this, it's not fair. Rant Over!

The new format would be great if the demographics of the people who use AgingCare were decades younger.... but many of us here are seniors ourselves. Thus, any software change can be mind boggling.

I just realized I need to change the option of oldest post first, which I am use to... it just makes more sense when there is a discussion going on.

P.S. Once again I had to change the option of oldest post first after I had posted this comment. Is there anyway to "lock in" the option to "Oldest First"?

I agree FF, there’s something buggy about retaining the sort choices. I am trying to sort by Most Recent. On some posts it retains that choice. Going to other posts it reverts to Most Helpful. Which is a pretty lame sort anyway. Who is to say it’s actually “helpful”... I assume it’s got the most likes? Which is nice but I can’t imagine wanting to sort that way.

Just found another things that needs some software tweeking. Whenever I post a link for an article written by Aging Care, it doesn't turn to blue so that the reader can easily click on it to read.... the reader would need to cut and paste it which some people won't or can't figure out how to do that.

Sorry, guys, but this is awful. On the "home" page, the horizontal list of questions, etc., doesn't fit on the screen --- the fourth item is cut off on the right margin. When I scroll to the next screen, the same item is cut off on the left margin. I tried adjusting the font size (until I couldn't read it) and dragging the margins (didn't work). This looks like change for the sake of change, rather than for the sake of the user.

I don’t like the horizontal scrolling either...I don’t bother with it, just click on the pale blue heading Recent Questions and it will give you a list.

Didnt they have anyone older than 40 on the development team? Sigh.

The format is not easy to read and to comprehend the thread titles. The horizontal scrolling when moving for the next set of questions is dizzying (ACCM's instruction upthread helped, but if I couldn't find the instruction, I'd be wasting time trying to figure all this out around then give up). Last year when I was desperate to find a forum for information and support for this exhausted live-in caregiver, if this format were present I would have gone elsewhere. As much as I love the people on this site, that thought saddens me.

Hi Wally,
The following tab is reporting all of the members and content you have chosen to follow or interact with. If you would like to follow fewer items, use the -unfollow option listed on anything that you are following.

Don't like the new format. There was nothing wrong with the old one.

I was trying to be open minded and give it a chance, but time and again when we had both versions I found myself returning to the old one. It was simply easier to use. Can’t understand why the complete revamp was necessary? Not a fan of the change!

I’m only in my 30s and I think this new layout is awful! The old layout was much easier to navigate. Especially when you are using a phone. This is just awful.

With apologies to my fellow posters, I assume that most people who come to this site have more "life experience" than users of a typical forum.  OK.  I'll come right out and say it.  With so many old people using this site, what genius thought it would be a good idea to change the format?  In case you haven't heard, most old people don't like change.  This seems like the classic "change for change's sake" situation that does nothing to enhance the users' experience.  I predict that once they see their traffic start going into the toilet that an option to return to the old format will be made available.

I am officially an old person! But in my past life I was in Business Systems Development for a large company. I like to think I’m still open minded about change. There are some things here I probably will get used to. But there are some obvious improvements that could be made especially regarding the Sort function.
I’m just not sure what the point of these changes were. It’s bright and shiny but less functional.
And I’m not sure anyone is listening to us users.

I wish the new format would have included the name of the writer of the original question/discussion.

I realize the previous website had eliminate that too, after having it for awhile, but with the new format, it makes it look like those of us who are answering are the original writer because the print for the screen name/date is so tiny when one scrolls down through the titles of the questions/discussions.

FF, I don't like that I cannot know who started a question either. There are some people that post that I avoid.

I also like to see how many new posts there are especially on the thread I frequently visit. Now the only way is to go to the thread and try to figure out where I last left off.

I agree. It's hard to use. You either get none of the new topics or you get of them arranged in such a random way you have no idea how to find what you may be interested in reading.

Observation. I usually wake up early morning hours. I come here to read a few. Now I understand why people are complaining about the light green color prints for the Title/Question of the originator. As I was scrolling through the topics in my Newsfeed, my eyes started straining. I had to stop scrolling or it would trigger a migraine.

Is it possible to darken the question in the Newsfeed? It’s black here. But it’s light green in Newsfeed. A much darker green or even blue would be better. The darker color will help avoid straining the eyes.

I agree, the new format is not as easy to read and navigate as the old one. Font is much smaller, and since you seem only able to see a few questions/discussion topics at a time, it takes a lot more work to see the content. Much less rewarding.

Probably will be visiting this site much less often if this is how it's going to be.

I'm surprised that this site doesn't have people answering these questions and concerns in a more timely way. I'm sure they spent a lot of time (and probably money) testing this new layout. The forums must be a major attraction for the site and those of us who volunteer our time and effort to help other caregivers should be a valued resource. But there's only been three answers from AC moderators about our complaints today, many hours ago. Color me shocked. They would be smart to be more proactive about our concerns as they roll out a whole new look to their site. You only have a very short time to make online consumers happy.

I'm sure they're chalking some of it up to our average ages, but I'm pretty computer savvy and used to change and I don't find this new layout easy to navigate or functional. I'm very disappointed and I hope they address some of our concerns. Even an answer that they've heard us and are working to address them or answer our specific questions would be helpful.

I actually did receive an email this afternoon regarding my pet peeve..the Sort function not retaining our choice, instead switching around from Most Helpful, to Newest, to Oldest. It is recognized as a bug and they are working on it. So they are monitoring our complaints and probably overwhelmed right now.

Above the "balloons" in each section you can click on "recent question", "recent discussions" or "needs answers" (if you're logged on) and you quickly can switch to a top to bottom list format. Clicking on your avatar provides a quick and easy way to get to your news feed, activities and profile pages.

Pamz, I think one of the reasons you can't find your favourite threads is that nobody has been posting very much today :(

Why oh why did Pepsee's latest post show up in my news feed but I can't find it on the thread??

To send a message - you should see a message box below the person's profile when you click their name, but some people have set their profiles to not allow messages. (You won't see a message box on your own page but you should be able to see messages that have been sent to you)

There are several questions that I would like to look at to see if there are any new or additional answers or suggestions.  Do I need to "FOLLOW" every question that I might want to look at again in the future???

I tried to "Search" for a person and their postings are not in order according to date written either according to the year or to the month.  Some of the posts were from 2018, then 2014, then 2015, then 2018, back to 2014, and I have NO CONTROL as to selecting the year that I want to review--2018.  A June 2018 posting or question is followed by January 2014, followed by April 2018, followed by August 2017, followed by July 2016, followed by September 2015, followed by February 2018, etc.......
