Are you having any success as a caregiver, getting to sleep, staying asleep, or getting enough sleep? How have the holidays affected your sleep routine? Some call it a sleep ritual, like brush your teeth, cool off your room, straighten the covers on your bed, check the locks, What about you?
I hate to say it, but light from electronic devices is the enemy, too. You're supposed to turn off your computer/phone/Kindle/whatever a good hour before you hope to nod off.
when i lie down my brain thinks its time to ' figure this sht out ' . many a helpful conclusion is reached but the cost is high ( in lost sleep ) . imo , its almost worth it to go thru life with resolute plans as opposed to many brain dead clowns who get blindsided by every event . ive taken ambien for ten years . ive seen a much better QOL and no noticable downside .
funny story about the ambien ; my local va doc grabbed back my ambien at the same time my son was killed . ( she's a real butthole ) . i rightfully switched back to my ( indian ) doc of 15 years . first thing indian doc did was offer me the ambien back . i was pissed -- told her i was over begging the va for anything . i was making do with 1 mg phenobarbitol prescribed for a dog .
" oh for hell's sake , now youre taking medication prescribed for your dog " .
i respectfully corrected her mistake . what i said was ( a dog ) . i dont have a dog .
i went to the local clinic last thursday for a scary ( near pneumonia ) shortage of breath scare . ' butthole ' doc took the opportunity to ask me why if i didnt want her as my doc , why am i in there seeing her now ? im pleased with myself . i didnt let her get under my skin . she's a real condescending jerk , i think shes wrong to treat va assets as her own ' gift ' and i sense discord within her own camp .
Lol Send, I think you've found the answer. Just make a call to your local government provider of whatever. Listen to their outgoing message and you'll have no problem dozing off. Or.........watch the CNN coverage of all things Trump, all day, every day, 24/7. If that doesn't put you to sleep nothing will.
Do your television stations in the States have that Christmas channel where they just show a fireplace with a nice big crackling fire? I turned that on this afternoon and it put me into a nice sleepy state. I ended up having a two hour nap. I even got lulled into a sense of warmth coming from the t.v.
Ah, I do have the fireplace scene on Roku. However, the bird is listening to his nightime relaxing bird video. So in about an hour, we will start a warm fireplace fire on t.v. Thanks Gershun.
I have sleep issues many nights tonight being one of them. I have medications but I monitor what I use on different nights. If it takes too long I seem to get a second wind although I still feel tired. I have completely cut out caffeine.
For the first time in a long time I don't have financial stresses having sold a house recently. Between my husband and I we have a litany of health issues but I am doing my best to not let them overwhelm me. This is so difficult because I worry how I will feel the next day which generally will not be great if I don't get to sleep. I think I may have to cut out garcinia which I started taking recently to have energy for exercise which I recently went back to after recovering from surgery. I had an active day. I just don't get why my body fights me this way. I can't do anything like chamomile tea or hot milk. That is way too mild. I don't drink alcohol at all anymore. I was watching a really interesting show and I guess I didn't start the routine early enough. It really is so annoying.
Lately my legs are achy so that keeps me awake. Hopefully eating more bananas will help with that. My sleep can be good for a few nights and then it gets off kilter. I usually try to read some, and that seems to knock me out when I don't want it too. My main culprit is the internet. I'm on it too much. :(
After a berry smoothie (1/2 c.) with real Greek Yogurt and blueberries, plus mixed berries, a full nights sleep ensued, and I got up after 10:30 a.m.
At 6:30 a.m., Tweety jumped onto the side of his cage, afraid of something. About 1/4 mile away, a car careening down the hill hit another car and took out a fence. My guard-birdie!

What about you?
Thank you MsMadge.
Sheesh, now I have to get up and turn off the a/c. It was on for only ten minutes to adjust the heat and filter out the stuffiness.
Then there's tightening and relaxing each muscle group starting at your toes and ending at your noggin.
Magnesium is a good one.
I've tried it all. But I'm a insomniac so .......well you know.😑

Just now, I had dozed off when my health insurance plan called in a reminder.
