day after day. She is in a nursing home. She is bed bound. They used to get her up daily until after lunch. She declined quite a bit a month ago after another fall. We thought she was going to die.
She has gotten better but is still weak and tired.
She is still mentally alert and can talk to us, etc. I keep trying to think of something we might be able to do to bring her some joy. She doesn't care to watch tv, nor read. Never had any hobbies.
Reading an interesting article to your Mom or a chapter a day from a book you all like or show her pictures and ask questions about them or talk about recipes and tricks that might help you in the kitchen she knows.
An easy, fun card game called Uno is fun too and a backrub is always soothing, but I'm sure that even if you do nothing with her,it brings her great comfort to just have you beside her,
holding her hand and hugging her.
You are blessed to have each other and she's mighty lucky to have you.
Take care~
nurse check her vitals a couple times a week and a CNA come bathe
her a couple times a week. She has a wheelchair, but doesn't eat any
longer, so they stopped taking her to the dining room and if they ask her if she wants to go she says no.
mentally aware are better off. I really don't know.
