my mom just say's the word ok, ok, or yeap, I don't understand that she can't say anything else.

Neats, this happens sometimes in the later stages of Alzheimer's. One woman that I knew with it would repeat the last few words of what was said to her. It was painful to see. Maybe it was her way of trying to communicate. It did let us know that she heard us, but there was no connection when she repeated the words.

I watched a video tonight with a Christian worker communicating with a late-stage Alzheimer's woman through touch and song. I was shocked to see at the end of the video that the woman actually started singing the song with her! I was very uncomfortable watching the video, but was amazed at how music and touch got past the communication barrier a little bit.
