Our father gave POA to his 4 sisters. We had it reversed. They tricked him and they had it reversed back to them. Now dad has 1st stage dementia. Can I get this reversed back to me? He said he was giving them POA over his finances, come to find out it was for everything, finances, healthcare, bills, etc. Can anyone help me?
I suggest that if you do get the POA changed, that only one of you is POA, with the other children being back-up, in case you cannot perform the duties. Having multiple people as equal POAs is a nightmare if they cannot agree on a particular decision.
While POA does not require a lawyer, in this case which is complicated by dementia and family conflict I strongly recommend it.
