I am the executor of my mom's will and have DPOA over all powers. My sister is trying to get my mom to sign over the house deed to her. What do I need to do to secure the deed so she doesn't try to take over the home?

Thank you N1K2R3. We hired an attorney and took care of the deed problem. No one can sell the house without my signature. This is a huge relief.

Same thing happened to my mom,
states may differ.but here in SC unless you have her pronounced incompatent by a judge and become legal guardian Will.Poa can be changed any time your mom agrees.My sister had mon sign over house Refianced it evicted her when I found out.

A Warranty Deed on real property is an extremely important document. It cannot be shifted around like paper. One doesn't just "sign it over".
I would check at the courthouse in the county in which the house is in. The clerks will tell you ( or you can see it yourself) what ownership applies.
Employ a lawyer and tell him/her what situation you are in now. He/she will guide you through a process which MAY prevent ownership of the property from going to your sister.
The most important thing is to arrange for the sale or transfer of the property AFTER your mom passes. Remember the POA disappears upon her death.

Someone "can" just sign it over. All you need is a new deed and a notary.
