we use briefs with pads on my Dad and we also use washable mattress protectors and chucks. He has a bedside urinal (cath-bag style).
Every morning when I go to check on him - his brief is wet AND in the floor, his washable pad is wet and sometimes the sheets/mattress are wet.
There must be an answer out there! please help!
Her problem when she's awake is that she knows she has to go but can't make it to the commode in time.
I realize this problem will be "fact of life" eventually, he is 81 and not mobile. My goal (for all of us) is to find solutions to rising issues...however crazy they may seem. During the past year we have had many hurdles but through trial and error we have managed to jump them all, so far.....and we know there will be more. Here's one - we used Duct tape to secure a h/duty shower curtain to the carpet beside his bed because he kept dropping the urinal on the floor at night. Then we found the cath-bag style urinal. At his age, with urinary track infections already a problem....an actual cath is not possible right now.
