I am specifically looking for a support group in the Denver/Boulder area that deals with elder caretaking. I know there are cagillions of us baby boomers doing this job but yet I cannot find a support group anywhere!! I have found support groups for hospice but I need to deal with others that are caring for an elderly parent, or other family members. This is the most difficult job I have ever done and find myself lost in many ways and sharing ideas and thoughts would be an a big help.

Hi... I'm in Denver... I had a similar problem (finding a caregiver's support group) and started one my my neighborhood. It meets every 2nd Wednesday of the month around 5:15ish (the next one is August 13th) at Reiver's Restaurant 1085 S Gaylord St (by Washington Park)... It's just growing, but I've met some very nice people and last month a man stopped in who is taking care of his quadriplegic wife who has MS. I was actually able to help him a bit, because my cousin took care of his wife who was bed-ridden with MS for decades (I passed on my cousin's information to him and he was very thankful). Also... a non-profit group called 'A Little Help' was started in our neighborhood about 8 yrs ago and I highly recommend you look into this group. Hilary (one of the two paid employees) is wonderful... She has come to our meeting and we are in their newsletter. http://www.alittlehelp.org/ I hope this helps.
