Find Care & Housing
For your sanity you leave him to it and let the landlord and the courts decide on the rest refusing to take any part in it. Whether this is reasonable is a matter of opinion and probably depends on how well one gets on with the parent, and what impact on your life you are willing to let them have. But letting someone else make the choice and take over responsibility means you can see him for visits when you may get on together better, and it means you accept he is an adult with the right to choose his own path. We cannot win in some cases, and it certainly isn't worth our health to try. Let him be responsible for his own "fate".

YES this normal. I say this because the same thing happened to me. I did not understand why Dad would get so angry at me when I would try to help him. For gosh sakes he was on oxygen and I was scared. My Dad was dying. My feelings were hurt when he told me I DONT NEED YOU DAMM IT ! My brother had to take over . When I told my therapist how my Dad was acting , he knew exactly the answer. He told me that when it comes to a Father and Daughter relationship your Dad can't bare to show weaknesses to his little baby girl . That answer my therapist gave me that day clicked and my heart stopped hurting immediately.
But when it was time to take care of Mom ...I could not do enough.
