Find Care & Housing
The dangers of this are skin breakdowns. This leads to sores which can lead to MRSA which can be life threatening. You can get "inserts" to put inside of the diapers which are similar to pads only they are not quite as thick and they are wide almost like a diaper. But even with these you still have to be sure to check the person every two hours to make sure they are dry and if not change them and clean them. You have to be very careful using two diapers or even the inserts. I wouldn't do this unless you are going to be out for an extended period or overnight and even then it is wise to check them every two hours to see if they need changing.

MRSA is Methicillin Resistant Staphyloccocus Aureus. It is so dangerous because it is a bacterium of the skin that tends to be resistant to most antibiotics. Perhaps you have heard of Streptococcus A which is a flesh eating bacteria. MRSA is very, very similar and is just as dangerous. It generally will present as a sore that just will not heal. A special test has to be done where the area is swabbed with a Q-tip and the specimen sent to a lab. Usually people with MRSA have to be kept isolated until they have 3 consecutive negative cultures as it is highly, highly contagious.
