Find Care & Housing
trosenb, also note that some parents are very good at hiding things they can't do any more. My parents were like that. The main floor of their home looked fairly neat and tidy, not bad for parents in their 90's. The refrigerator looked ok, some spills but durable. Mom was still making all the meals, and dirty plates were being washed, etc.

If only I could have snooped upstairs, that was a totally different story... I won't go into detail. I didn't know how it looked until my Mom had passed, then I wasn't afraid to snoop around as I knew my Dad didn't care.

trosenb, here is an excellent article I found here on Aging Care regarding this subject.

https://www.agingcare.com/articles/signs-your-parent-needs-help-143228.htm

Please note, if you see an advertisement at the end of a paragraph, keep scrolling down for the rest of the article.... another ad, keep scrolling, etc. etc.

Then later go back to the first page, and on on your upper left you will see 40+ comments, click on that to read about what others have been through.

When they are repeatedly calling 911 for falls, when they are messing up medications, when there's no food or rotten food in the house and the place is a mess. Then you step in.
