My mother is in assisted living. She has cognitive issues and some sundowning, but we, or someone at the facility, can usually re-direct her or help her solve little problems (such as losing her TV remote). However, recently she has begun to call us and tell us the floor in her room is hot to the touch and so is her bed. She has a memory foam mattress, and those actually can hold heat, but we cannot explain how the floor is suddenly "hot." This situation arose a few weeks ago, and again today. Has anyone ever heard of someone having delusions like this? We are taking her to a neurologist soon, but I'd appreciate any feedback you may have.
I wonder if she's having some type of anxiety attack and her body heats up? Or maybe she's just warm, for whatever reason?
