I hadn’t had this problem before, and now I’m not prepared. I know there are several brands, but I don’t know where to start. Can I just use a womans' period pad. It’s not much urine, just a drop or two, but smells to high heaven. Under pants, slacks, pj’s.
I'd like someone who has gone through this stage to help figure this out. Thanks in advance!
I remember an older relative was actually pleasantly surprised these were available on the shelf, just like feminine hygiene pads.
As mentioned, men's briefs have more absorbancy in the front. Brands may differ for fit so trialling a packet of each is an idea. Getting a good snug fit will help avoid leaks down the leg.
Check online or with your local health service if you have a Continence Service or Continence Nurse. I found this service fantastic. They know all the brands & have many tips.
Also have him checked for a UTI , due to the strong smell and new onset of incontinence .
What caught my eye tough was your comment about the pungent odor of the urine. That can be caused by many things and should be checked out. And if you notice the color is anything other than pale yellow that should be checked as well. The darker the urine the more concentrated it is indicating possible dehydration and or kidney failure.
