This elderly blind woman lives in old home with windows that do not close or open properly, screens torn and doors need repairs also. Has caregiver and meals on wheels, but the house needs repairs and she lives on a fixed income from SS only.

If an elder cannot afford to make his/her own repairs to his/her own home, maybe it time to move on to a safer professional environment.

Are you her Power of Attorney? If she is disabled, she may qualify for various benefits, but I'm not sure of home maintenance. You might check with the social services office. Many of them have a department that can determine what if services or benefits the disabled person qualifies for based on income and assets.

Sometimes local churches also take on causes and help.

Call the county office of the aging, they have lots of information about weatherization funds if they are available, as well as HEAP for heating bills and SNAP for food stamps.
